The journey of Soopy bin Abdulla
The group's story began in 1978, when its founder arrived in Dubai. Starting from the ground up, Soopy worked in a local canteen for nearly a decade, gaining invaluable insights into the food industry and the art of customer service.
In the late 1980s he seized an opportunity to open his own canteen at the Al Khazzan Water Tank Project in Satwa. His determination allowed the venture to succeed, paving the way for further growth.
In 1991 he launched his first grocery, Wadi Baraka Grocery in Al Quoz, which quickly earned a reputation for quality and service. That success led him into foodservice in 1998 with his first cafeteria.
Today the group is a testament to Soopy's resilience and dedication. What began as a single canteen has evolved into a multifaceted enterprise serving thousands across Dubai.
